Metastatic colorectal cancer is a type of cancer that starts in the colon or rectum and spreads to other parts of the body. This study focuses on treating this cancer using a medication called regorafenib, which is available in the form of film-coated tablets known as Stivarga. The main goal of the study is to see if adjusting the treatment based on the levels of the drug in the blood can help improve the survival of patients with this type of cancer.
During the study, patients will receive regorafenib and their blood will be monitored to measure the concentration of the drug and its breakdown products. This monitoring will help determine the best dosage for each patient. The study will compare patients who have the "optimal exposure" to the drug with those who do not, to see if this approach can lead to better outcomes.
The study will also look at other factors, such as how long patients live without the cancer getting worse and the overall survival rate. Additionally, the study will assess the side effects of the treatment and how the body processes the drug. The results will help understand if personalized treatment based on drug levels can be more effective for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer.
